Automating Functionality in Orion
Orion's automation facilities allow key functionality within the Orion CIS, utility billing and credit management modules to be automated, removing the need for users to start system processes manually. Automation features allow:
- Scheduling of system tasks
- Automatic generation of correspondence to customer segments
- Automatic generation of reports
- Bulk processing of letters and invoices.

The Orion task scheduler can be used to schedule and automate key business processes. Each process is configured with required parameters and can be scheduled to run daily, weekly or monthly at set times. Exception reports are automatically emailed to users .

The Orion workflows component allows customer segments to be selected based on a range of configurable filters. Workflows can then automatically generate correspondence and/or internal system activities for action by staff.

The Orion batch reporting feature allows any of the standard reports available in Orion to be scheduled. These reports will be run at a preset time, and the output saved to a network drive or emailed to staff.

The Orion document generation component manages letter and invoice generation processes on the server rather than client PCs. This allows users to continue working while the letter or invoice generation process completes.
